How To Do Manicure At Home?

A completely satisfying, impressive and good manicure involves things to do more than just filing your nails and covering them with nail paint. It is also sort of an elaborate ritual – in the same way how you look forward to taking care of your face or your skin. However, there is a common myth surrounding the proper manicure procedure that it costs a lot. It does not. All you need to know are some techniques and follow these very easy steps to get a good and powered manicure at home by yourself –
1. Gathering All the Essential Tools
What you need to be aware of before starting to work on your skin is your skin type. This has to be done because not every skin care product is going to suit your skin type, even if the said product is homemade. Some of the things that you might need are – Nail paint remover, nail clipper, nail buffer, cotton pads, cuticle remover, hand moisturizer, base nail coat, nail paint along with a clear top coat.

2. Removing any traces of nail paint
For starting off with the manicure, the first thing to be done has to be the removal of the nail paint form your nails. You might want to use a not-acetone nail paint remover along with cotton pads for gentle removal. Non-acetone nail paint removers are preferred as they do not dry the surrounding skin around the nail. Although the acetone removers work much faster, they can prove to be really fatal for the surrounding skin.
3. Clipping & Filing Your Nails
You might want to use the nail clippers to actually clip your nails. Also, try to avoid in cutting them too short. Then prefer using the nail file to give them a shape. You can give it any shape –rounded at the edges or squared. However, try not to buff the nails to be too smooth else the nail paint won’t work on them.
4. Soak Your Hands
Here comes the most relaxing step of this process. Take a big glass bowl – big enough to fit your hand – and fill it with warm water. Now add baby shampoo or gentle cleanser & soak your hands in the water for some minutes. Soaking the cuticles actually help in loosening them. Do not forget about scrapping them. Also, try to avoid over-soaking them.
5. Cuticle Cream
Apply the cuticle cream and then gently push back the cuticles from the nails. Once done, wipe off the cream gently to avoid infection.

6. Hand Moisturizer
Massage your hands with a hand moisturizer and soak them in warm water for thirty seconds before applying it.
7. Nail Paint
Avoid too much moisturizer as the nail paint might not stick to it. Apply a thin base coat, nail paint and then an overcoat.
This was all you need to know about how to do a manicure at home. Hope this proves to be helpful to you in some way or other.
